02-Jul-2001Former cricketer Manoj Prabhakar was today arrested by theUttaranchal Police from his office in Delhi in connection with acheating case registered against him in Haldwani district, policesaid."We have arrested Manoj Prabhakar from his office in MalviyaNagar", Assistant Director General of Police (ADGP) Anil Raturi toldPTI in Dehra Dun today. He is being brought to the state on a transitwarrant.Prabhakar has been arrested on charges of forgery andother sections of the IPC in connection with Apace Chit Fundcase, Raturi said. Earlier, the Uttaranchal High Court had stayedhis arrest in one case while the arrest has been executed in thesecond case of the chit fund scam following issuance of non-bailablewarrants by a Haldwani court last month.
