Tottenham: Fans fume as Alasdair Gold tweet reveals Mourinho’s verdict on Parrott

Many Tottenham Hotspur fans are fuming with Jose Mourinho over comments he has made on Troy Parrott following the north London club’s defeat on penalties to Norwich City in the FA Cup on Wednesday night.

This comes after journalist Alasdair Gold wrote an article for Football.London analysing Mourinho’s comments, leading with the Portuguese coach saying ‘now you can see’ after he was asked why the youngster was not getting as much game-time under him.

Parrott only managed a 6.2 rating on Sofascore, the lowest in the entire Spurs team after coming on in the 96th minute for Dele Alli, who was playing in the false-nine position. He did not see much action when he came on, as he only had eleven touches, the lowest on the pitch. He did come on quite late but Spurs fans and Jose would have hoped he would have had a bigger impact so the north London club would avoid the dreaded penalty shootout. Penalties are widely regarded as anyone’s game and unfortunately for Tottenham, Parrott missed his and THFC ended up losing the shootout.

These Spurs fans were fuming at Mourinho for his comments on the youngster and vented their opinions under Gold’s tweet, with one fan claiming Mourinho only made these comments to ‘stroke his own ego’:

Spurs fans, what do you make of Mourinho’s comments? Do you think Parrott is ready to get a run in the first-team now or would you rather play a false-nine with more experience? Let us know in the comments below.
